Fresh from the kitchen
The latest from my kitchen — recipes, garden updates, and whatever's currently taking over my counter space.

Always a good idea
The recipes that never leave the rotation. The ones people ask me for every single time.
Tastes like you spent all day on it. You didn't — and that's the whole point.

A note from Kate
I grew up in rural Ontario, Canada, where cooking from scratch, putting up jars for winter, and taking care of the people around you was just — life. I moved to San Diego when I married my husband, and somewhere between nannying for families here and building our own home, I realized the skills I'd grown up with were actually kind of rare.
So this is my corner of the internet. Real food, honest stories, and the kind of practical knowledge that makes everyday life a little more delicious. No fuss, no performance — just come as you are.
